MT-II (Melanotan II Analogue)
Melanotan II — the premium cyclic alpha-MSH analogue combining potent tanning, MC-4R sexual function enhancement, and appetite suppression in a single versatile compound.
- Most potent tanning compound — deep pigmentation at lower doses than MT-1
- PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a direct metabolite — sexual function benefit built in
- Significant appetite suppression — supports body composition goals during tanning protocol
- Versatile: tanning, libido, and metabolism addressed simultaneously
- Long-lasting pigmentation — colour persists weeks after dosing ceases

How MT-II (Melanotan II Analogue) Works
The mechanism of action, step by step.
Potent MC-1R/MC-3R/MC-4R Activation
MT2's cyclic structure provides high-affinity binding at MC-1R (melanogenesis), MC-3R (metabolic regulation), and MC-4R (sexual function and appetite). This multi-receptor engagement is the source of MT2's versatility — a single compound simultaneously stimulates tanning, libido, and metabolic signalling.
PT-141 Metabolic Conversion
In the body, MT2 is metabolised to bremelanotide (PT-141) — the FDA-approved compound for female sexual dysfunction. The sexual arousal and erectile function effects of MT2 are primarily mediated by this metabolic conversion. Users who respond strongly to MT2's sexual effects are experiencing the PT-141 mechanism.
Hypothalamic Appetite Suppression
MC-4R activation in the arcuate and paraventricular hypothalamic nuclei directly inhibits the NPY/AgRP orexigenic neurons while activating POMC/CART anorexigenic neurons. This produces meaningful appetite suppression — particularly useful during aesthetics-focused protocols where body composition and tanning are concurrent goals.
Accelerated Melanogenesis
MT2's higher MC-1R potency relative to MT1 enables lower doses to produce equivalent melanin stimulation. This pharmacokinetic efficiency means faster pigmentation onset at a smaller injection volume — typically 2-4x less peptide is required for equivalent tan depth compared to MT1.

The Science Behind It
Peer-reviewed research supporting the mechanism of MT-II (Melanotan II Analogue).
Melanotan II produces penile erection via central melanocortin pathways — phase 1 trial
MT2 produced penile erection in a dose-dependent manner in healthy volunteers in a phase 1 trial, including men with erectile dysfunction unresponsive to standard treatments. Erection occurred 1-5 hours post-injection via a mechanism confirmed to be independent of PDE5 inhibition.
Journal of Urology, 1998MT2 and UV-independent tanning in human volunteers
Daily subcutaneous MT2 at 0.025 mg/kg in fair-skinned volunteers produced significant skin darkening by day 10 of treatment, with tanning maintained for weeks after cessation of dosing, demonstrating the persistent melanogenic effect of MT2.
Archives of Dermatology, 1998Melanocortin-4 receptor agonism reduces food intake and body weight in obese subjects
MC-4R agonism produced dose-dependent reductions in food intake and body weight across multiple preclinical models, establishing the anorexigenic mechanism that MT2 users experience as appetite suppression during tanning protocols.

Three benefits in one compound — remarkable
Started MT2 for tanning. Got an excellent tan. Also noticed libido significantly elevated and found myself eating less without effort. The three effects arriving together from one product is genuinely impressive.
The best tanning protocol I have used
Type 1 skin — always burned, never tanned. Two weeks at 0.25 mg evening dose with brief daily sun exposure. By week 3 I had more colour than I achieved in an entire summer before. The results are not subtle.
Excellent results — patience with nausea required
The nausea on the first 4-5 injections at 0.25 mg was significant. By day 7 it had completely passed. After that the experience was excellent — great tan, improved libido, noticeably less appetite. Worth working through the initial adjustment.
